What you are buying, what we promise, and what we do not.
Last updated 28 July 2026.
We would rather you actually read this than agree to something you didn’t. If anything here is unclear, email hello@nyexam.com and ask.
What you are buying.
Practice exams for New York tests, written by us, taken online. You buy individual exams. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
Payment, access and refunds.
- Exams are priced per exam. Prices are shown before you pay
- You have twelve months from purchase to take an exam
- An exam you have not opened can be refunded at any time in that window
- Once an exam has been started it cannot be refunded, because it has been delivered
- An exam belongs to one child. Once a child starts it, it cannot be moved to a sibling
Your account and your child’s link.
You are responsible for your account and for the sign-in link we generate for your child. That link does not expire and anyone holding it can sit your child’s exams, so send it only to your child or to yourself. You can generate a new link at any time, which immediately stops the old one working.
What you may not do.
Every question and passage is our original work. You may use it to prepare your own child. You may not copy, record, republish, resell or share our questions, or use them to build a competing product or to teach paying students.
What we do not promise.
Our scaled score is an estimate built from published information. No practice test can predict an official result, and anyone claiming otherwise is guessing.
Nothing here guarantees admission to any school, or any particular improvement.
NY Exam is independent. We are not affiliated with, authorized by or endorsed by the NYC Department of Education, the New York State Education Department, any diocese, or any testing organization.
We aim to be available whenever your child sits down, and we save work as it happens. If a fault of ours costs you an exam, tell us and we will make it right.
Liability and law.
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us for the exam concerned. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
