Exam calendar: every test date for 2026–27

The dates New York students and job candidates need: the SHSAT, TACHS, HSPT, the New York State Tests, AP exams and the NYC civil service exams, each one read from the organization that runs the test. Where a date has not been announced yet, we say so rather than guess.

No fixed date

Exams you book when you are ready

These have no single national test day, so they are not on the calendar above.

ISEE

Three testing seasons: fall (August to November), winter (December to March) and spring/summer (April to July). A student may test once per season. You pick the date when you book with ERB.

ASVAB

Scheduled by a recruiter at a MEPS or MET site, or taken online as the PiCAT through a recruiter. After a first test, wait one calendar month to retest, then another month, then six.

HSPT at other New York schools

Catholic high schools in New York City, Westchester and Long Island admit through the TACHS, not the HSPT. Any other New York school that uses the HSPT sets its own date, so ask the school.

NY learner permit

Taken at a DMV office. Applicants under 18 can take it online first, then visit an office after three business days.

CDL knowledge tests

Taken at a DMV office when you apply for a commercial learner permit.

Real estate salesperson and broker

Booked on eAccessNY at a Department of State exam site. The salesperson exam allows 1 1/2 hours and the broker exam 2 1/2.

Motor Vehicle Operator and Stock Worker

Neither title has an application period on the DCAS schedule through June 30, 2027.

The NYC Bridge Exam

Its last application period was June 3 to 23, 2026 (exam 6977). The schedule through June 2027 lists no exam by that name; some of its titles appear separately, such as Child Protective Specialist (May 5 to 25, 2027) and Maintenance Worker (March 3 to 23, 2027). Check each notice of examination.

2027–28

Next year’s dates

None of these organizations has published its 2027–28 dates yet: not the SHSAT or TACHS for fall 2027, not the spring 2028 State Tests, not the May 2028 AP exams, and not DCAS’s schedule after June 30, 2027. We will add each one here when it is announced, and we will not post a guessed date as if it were real.
