HSPT practice exams,
built as its own exam.

The exam

What the HSPT covers.

Produced by Scholastic Testing Service and used by many Catholic and independent schools that are outside the TACHS system. Some schools also use it for placement and scholarship decisions after admission.

  • Five subtests: Verbal Skills, Quantitative Skills, Reading, Mathematics and Language
  • Substantially longer than the TACHS, with close to 300 questions
  • Results are often used for placement and scholarships, not admission alone
  • Verbal and Quantitative Skills test reasoning rather than curriculum, and reward practice
  • Which exam a school requires varies — confirm with each school before preparing

Exam details are summarised from publicly available information from the organisation that administers it. Confirm current requirements with your school or the testing organisation before registering.
